This workshop provides state-of-the-art assessment and treatment for individuals with eating disorders and body image problems that you can immediately apply in your practice. Evidence-based rational emotive and cognitive-behavioral clinical strategies to address irrational beliefs and cognitive distortions found in both disorders will be emphasized. Strategies for reducing weight checking and shape checking, expanding clients’ concept of self-worth beyond appearance and weight, addressing comparison-making and performance checking will be taught. Treatment techniques will be demonstrated.
