This workshop provides state-of-the-art assessment and treatment for individuals with eating disorders and body image problems that you can immediately apply in your practice. Evidence-based rational emotive and cognitive-behavioral clinical strategies to address irrational beliefs and cognitive distortions found in both disorders will be emphasized. Strategies for reducing weight checking and shape checking, expanding clients’ concept of self-worth beyond appearance and weight, addressing comparison-making and performance checking will be taught. Treatment techniques will be demonstrated.

Dr Vernon will demonstrate practical application of RECBT theory to practice, with numerous cognitive, emotive, and behavioral interventions to employ when working with couples.
